A vintage 18K gold snake chain by UnoAErre, the Arezzo house that brought industrial precision to Italian goldsmithing. Tightly coiled round segments form a seamless, supple length with a soft, even polish that catches light along its entire run.
The marks place it precisely. UnoAErre registered the figure-8 UNO A ERRE logo in 1965 and replaced it with an italic redesign in 1983. The star-prefixed 1AR identification mark appears from 1976. Together they date this chain to the late 1970s or early 1980s.
The chain remains in excellent condition, silky smooth and fully flexible, with no kinks along its length. It is an elegant piece worn alone, and a substantial, well-made foundation for a favorite pendant.
