Samuel Getz built his reputation on the mirror cut: polishing select planes of a rough crystal into clear windows while leaving its interior architecture intact. This heliodor shows the technique at full strength. Through the polished face, natural etch channels and stepped growth terraces read like a landscape suspended in lemon-green beryl, shifting with every angle.
The pavé diamond bail, in cool white gold, sets off the warm triple-strand chain, which finishes in a signed Getz tag at the clasp.
Purchased new in 1997 at a retail price of $17,960, the necklace comes with its original Samuel Getz receipt documenting the stone and diamond specifications. It is a sculptural statement piece from a designer whose work treats the gemstone itself as the art.
